Find a medicine at the counter

Available to

Pharmacists and pharmacy assistants working at the counter.

The counter finds a medicine by what is in it, not only by its brand. Use the search box and the three rows of filters above the products. Each filter shows how many products it holds.

Search and filter

  1. Type in Search product: an ingredient or another name of it, a brand, an ATC code, or scan a barcode. Every word you type must match. Case and Arabic or Latin spelling variants do not matter.
  2. Narrow by dosage form: Tablet, Capsule, Syrup / Liquid, Drops, Injection, Cream / Ointment and the others.
  3. Narrow by category: Antibiotics, Pain and fever, Heart and blood pressure, Diabetes and the others. A medicine's category follows its ATC code.
  4. Narrow by prescription status: Any prescription status, Prescription only or Over the counter.
  5. Select Search more to load more results. Search and filters cover the whole catalogue, not only the part the till has already loaded.

OTCOver the counter. No prescription needed.

When a medicine has no stock at the counter, the till does not add it and says so. It lists the other packs with the same active ingredient that are on the shelf. For a prescription medicine a substitute is accepted only when the formulary allows substitution and it has the same ingredients, strengths and dose form. Otherwise contact the prescriber, because the prescription has to be re-issued.

Good to know

  • The batch appears under the line. If the earliest batch is recalled or expired the till sells from the next one and tells you. If no batch can be sold you see No batch can be sold.
  • The same search by ingredient works in the back office wherever you pick a product, for example on a prescription.
