Check laboratory quality, incidents and the audit chain

Available to

Laboratory quality officers and directors.

Quality officers can see how the intelligence layer is behaving without touching a result. They have four screens under Quality and safety, and the review row of the Laboratory dashboard.

Quality and safety

ScreenWhat it shows
IncidentsEvents that need follow-up: a suspected prompt injection, a model output that was rejected, an outage. Each has a severity, an owner and a state. An open incident can be contained and then closed.
Model performanceHow suggestions were decided: accepted, modified, rejected or deferred, by facility, instrument, use case, sex and age band. A table or a graph.
Audit chainEvery event of the layer, in order: a case opened, rules evaluated, a suggestion reviewed, a comment approved or withdrawn.
Verify the audit chainChecks that no entry was changed or removed.
Feedback datasetsGroups of reviewed cases offered for a separate, validated process. A director and a privacy officer must both approve one before it can be exported, and it is exported de-identified. Nothing is trained automatically.
Incidents of the intelligence layer.

Verify the audit chain

  1. Open Laboratory → Quality and safety → Verify the audit chain.
  2. A message tells you whether every entry is intact. For example: Every one of the 76 entries is intact.
  3. If it reports a broken entry, tell your administrator and your quality manager at once. Do not change records.

Good to know

  • Open the dashboard review row for the picture at a glance: waiting for a reviewer, rule alerts open, overrides, held back and open incidents.
  • A rise in overrides or false alerts is a reason to review the rule set or the model with the laboratory director.
