Create a medication schedule

Available to

Nurses.

A medication schedule turns a verified prescription line into timed doses on the medication round. The prescription must already be verified by the pharmacy.

Create a schedule

  1. Open Nursing → Medication Schedules and select New.
  2. Choose the Prescription Line, then the patient's active inpatient Encounter.
  3. Enter Start At and End At for the course.
  4. Enter Interval Hours between doses (at least a quarter of an hour), or 0 for an as-needed medication. An as-needed schedule also needs PRN Maximum / 24 h.
  5. Set Window Minutes: how long before and after the scheduled time a dose counts as on time.
  6. Save. The doses appear on the Doses tab and on the medication round.
