Biomedical Equipment Maintenance

Review maintenance history and operational follow-up

Available to

Biomedical Maintenance Manager, Quality Manager, Facilities Manager, and authorised executive user.

Explain practical operational follow-up: open and overdue requests, preventive work due, corrective work by category, repeat faults, downtime, vendor responsiveness, spare-part demand, cost history, and equipment nearing replacement. Use trends to prompt review, not to claim clinical device performance without validated measures.

Steps

  1. Filter the maintenance view by facility, department, equipment category, criticality, team, date range, or vendor.
  2. Review overdue preventive tasks and high-risk corrective requests first.
  3. Investigate repeat failure, unplanned downtime, or recurring part use with the equipment owner and quality or clinical governance leads.
  4. Create an approved follow-up action: service escalation, supplier review, training, replacement assessment, risk review, or schedule update.
  5. Retain decisions and evidence under the provider’s equipment-governance process.
