Biomedical Engineer or Maintenance Technician and authorised Biomedical Maintenance Manager.

Steps

  1. Review the fault request, safety status, equipment history, manufacturer information, and any applicable service contract before work begins.
  2. Record diagnosis, action taken, replacement parts, external service, labour, dates, and evidence through the approved maintenance request.
  3. Verify the outcome using the applicable safety, functional, calibration, or qualification process.
  4. Obtain the authorised return-to-service decision and update the physical tag or local clinical availability control.
  5. Close the maintenance request only when work, evidence, downtime, cost, and next-action information are complete.

What happens next

The equipment history informs repeat-fault analysis, preventive planning, warranty or supplier follow-up, and capital replacement decisions.
