Collect, reject, and recollect a specimen

Laboratory User and authorised collector.

Open Laboratory > Specimen Collection and confirm the patient, ordered test, specimen type, and label before collection.
Enter or scan the patient number or a verified patient identifier. Select Collect After Scan only after the identifier matches the expected patient.
The collection record stores the collector and collection time; the laboratory order progresses from Ordered to Collected where applicable.
When a specimen cannot be used, choose Reject and record the locally required reason.
Select Create Recollect after rejection to create a linked replacement expected specimen.
