Lets the privacy function review emergency access to sensitive records, assess the reason and purpose recorded by the user, and revoke active access when necessary.
Steps
- Open the emergency-access review queue.
- Review the patient, requesting user, stated purpose, reason, requested time, active period, and care context.
- Record the review decision according to the organisation’s privacy policy.
- Revoke active access only when the review identifies an appropriate reason to do so.
- Escalate a suspected inappropriate access event through the customer’s privacy or incident process.
